Join our team as Communications Fellow!

Climate Futures Studio is seeking a Communications Fellow to support storytelling, digital communications, and outreach during an exciting period of growth.

This is a six-month, part-time, remote position (10 to 20 hours per week), running from June through December 2026.

About Climate Futures Studio

Climate Futures Studio is a youth-led, artist-centered initiative working at the intersection of climate justice, culture, and imagination. Through our flagship program, Climate Storytelling 2075, we support emerging artists from BIPOC and frontline communities to envision just and sustainable futures through multimedia storytelling.

We see narrative as essential to systems change and create platforms where artists, scientists, organizers, and communities can co-create visions of the future.

About the Role

This role sits at the heart of how we share our work. The Communications Fellow will support social media, multimedia storytelling, and digital outreach, while also contributing to events and broader organizational development.

As a non-hierarchical team of volunteers, we invite the Fellow to co-shape their responsibilities, bring their own ideas, and help define our communications strategy. We cannot offer funding, but are happy to provide letters of support for finding funding within your institution or funding/class credit within your university.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and manage social media (primarily Instagram and website)

  • Create multimedia content (video, audio, visual storytelling)

  • Collaborate with artists to center their voices and aesthetics

  • Contribute to communications strategy and organizational development

Who We’re Looking For

We value care, curiosity, and alignment over formal credentials. You may be a great fit if you:

  • Have experience in social media storytelling or digital communications

  • Enjoy working collaboratively with artists and communities

  • Care deeply about climate justice and cultural work

  • Are organized, thoughtful, and self-directed

We strongly encourage applications from people from BIPOC, queer, disabled, and frontline communities.
